Taikin is a high-end Asian restaurant in the city of Doral, FL. The visual identity was developed through illustrations and graphic elements. The name of the restaurant is the Japanese word for “good fortune” and it’s also related to the Tanuki; an emblematic character on the Japanese mythology who represents prosperity and wealth. Based on that synergy, the concept brings to life the significance of both elements and creates the graphic story that represents it.
Continue readingInspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s rendition of the impish yet tender bond between a mother and child in Champa Flower, a blank wall, becomes a canvas for story-telling, by transforming itself into a veritable grove of Frangipani, whose low branches evoke images of children hanging by them, or scaling the tree images of laughter and play and childish whimsy. The landscape begins at one end of the passageway and terminates at the other, with the marquetry continuing in the fore and background, with semi precious blossoms and birds ,seamlessly folding around the jambs of the fluted brass door.

Sharaku is a popular illustrator with many mysteries. The mystery is interpreted freely and expressed. Making footpack socks, making picture frames like the Kabuki mirror stand, styling and make-up, Sharaku may have been a woman. Under such a concept, expressions like fashion stories are characterized. It is finished in an experimental and impacting concept.
Continue readingThe Corporate Identity "Feiner Herr" is like the product itself: the redefinition of tradition with a modern twist. The visual language is based on early 20th century design elements, contemporarily and minimalistic interpreted. Each modern translation of ornamental tiles is based on the original pancake recipes. It allows flexibility and in the same time continuity in the reinterpretation of the concept, following the regularly updated recipes. The chosen brand name "Feiner Herr" has two meanings in old German language and describes both a gentleman and/or a gourmet.
Continue readingThis is a redesign and revival of William Moon’s Moon typeface, combined with a custom Latin script to enable the joint learning of children with visual impairments and those with normal sight. Moon Two is a hybrid typeface for use in the educational system and at home. It stays true to the 171 year old original in many ways, but removes the confusion that many children felt with its original rotated and mirrored shapes.

Data from NASA is used to create each unique and personalised design. This project depicts the contextualisation of a specific individual human life within the bigger picture of the universe. It helps relate to the solar system itself and find one's place in the universe. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched in August 2015 and has been 83660% funded from more than 1 500 backers.
